uConnect Blank screen – I broke it installing the TaZer

The method I cover in this video “normally” fixes issues with the uConnect screen when it’s blank or locked, but I inadvertently created the issue when I installed the zAutomotive TaZer Double Bypass. I installed the TaZer to clear the P050B code generally a “Cold Start” code. My car had been sitting for a few weeks due to travel so I felt the extra cold day coupled with the potential low battery from sitting for a few weeks was the issue.

The Install went well, I was able to reset the code with the Tazer but the uConnect screen was blank. and this is where the fun began…

How to properly jack and change the oil – Hellcat

This is our new winged diffuser for the 15-19 Challenger that will fit across all models. Designed with an aluminum belly pan to smooth and diffuse air coming out from under the car along with an additional wing to provide added down force and attached to HDPE material with an automotive finish. This product is made to work using the 5 to 10 deg angle of slope from our added rear belly pan to diffuse the air properly. Comes with all mounting hardware.

Additional Down force will be noticeable at 75+mph and will provide a more planted feel for the vehicle. Compared to our standard Challenger diffuser, this product is 1.75″ taller in a fin to fin comparison.

Warning: This product will touch the ground on steep slopes and driveways on a stock height Challenger, this product is meant to be functional and close to the ground. If you have lowering springs and or airbags, be warned this product hangs low and will scrape when taking on sharp angled instances.

Please verify if you have threaded or unthreaded rear differential cross member. This will determine the hardware required for mounting. You MUST verify ahead of ordering. (See install video below on where to look)

If your rear end is unthreaded you will need a Rivnut Tool to install the hardware nuts that the bolts will screw into.

Fixing the 2 piece Brembo Rotor Wheel click

At first I was concerned that the front wheels on my Hellcat were clicking at low speeds especially when turning. After a bit of digging I come to find this is a common issue with the 2 piece Brembo rotors and also affects the GTR, Cadillac CTSV and other vehicles using this configuration. Other than annoying it’s not much to be concerned about if your wheels are properly torqued.

The fix is simple, clean the mating surfaces on the wheel and rotor, then properly torque the wheels. Below you will find the Brake hub cleaning kit I used along with the other tools I use in this video. Dodge Challenger Hood Seal Replacement

Do you have that annoying floppy hood seal, has it fallen off? In this video I cover how to properly replace the seal for a few bucks and an hour of your time.

 

The challenger hood seal is notorious for premature wear cracking and falling apart in just a few short years of use. The significantly cuts down on water spray and dust entering the engine bay area, keeping your engine looking cleaner longer, a major need for people who show off their car and an important thing to prevent premature engine wear as well.
